A Message from the Mayor
Welcome to the Town of Clayton, Delaware. We are pleased to be one of Delaware’s vibrant residential communities. Whether you are a long-time resident, new to our Town, or a virtual visitor, we believe you will share our sense of pride in our Town.

The Town of Clayton is proud of its rich railroad history. From the 1850’s through the 1950’s, Clayton served as a rail transportation hub on the Delmarva Peninsula. Currently the Town of Clayton serves approximately 2,918 residents.

We are excited to offer you this user-friendly website to showcase some of the opportunities available to you whether you are thinking about opening a business in Clayton, relocating to Clayton, or if you are already a citizen of Clayton.

We are an open community. If you have a question or concern, you are welcome to attend the Town Council meetings which are held on the second and fourth Monday of the month to voice your concerns.

The Town of Clayton, its elected officials, and employees are ready to provide assistance and quality service to you. We are committed to make Clayton a great place to live.
