This vacuum machine is designed to pick up ONLY leaves. Please do not include branches or yard waste in your leaf piles. We ask for your patience and cooperation. Due to the quantity of streets and leaves, the crew is unable to accommodate special requests for pick up. Please be assured that the crew will devote as much time as possible to this important service.

Effective October 1, 2009 the following utility rates will increase: Minimum charge for electric will be $25. The minimum sewer charge will be $16.50. These changes were approved at the Council Meeting on September 14, 2009.

Starting tax year 2010, the property tax discount will be eliminated. The property tax billings will be mailed on July 1 and payments will be due on September 30. This change was approved at the Council Meeting on September 14, 2009.

In order to qualify as a participant, the honoree must have served or are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces and a resident in the Smyrna/Clayton area or an immediate family member of a resident in the Smyrna/Clayton area.

There are two trash recycling drop off locations in the Smyrna/Clayton area.

The Town is currently in the process of changing electric and water meters to electronic meters. If you currently have hand-read meters, please call the Town Office at 653-5637 to schedule an appointment or fill out the Service Request Form. The Clayton Police Department has reconditioned cell phones available. These cell phones will only call 911. Please contact the Clayton Police Department at 653-8186 for more information.
